Best for Families - Expert review of Tivoli
Right in the centre of town across from the main railway station, Tivoli is the big draw in Copenhagen - it's a fairytale theme park experience complete with thrill rides, carnival fun, flower gardens and dining venues.
If it sounds like the kind of theme park you might find anywhere, I guess it is, but these gardens - open since the 1840s - are rather quaint, old fashioned and fun. More than just a place of carnival rides, it's a great place to come for the open air concerts, firework displays and seasonal markets during the year. At night time it becomes positively romantic - blazing with thousands of fairy lights.
Entry is 95 krone for adults and 50 krone for children. Entry to the rides (around 30 krone each) isn't included. A multi-ride ticket costs about 200 krone for adults and 170 krone for children.
