One of the few pedestrian zones in the city, the park has totally transformed the area around the Acropolis since it opened in 2004. Stretching between Hadrian’s Arch and Gazi, the park covers almost the full extent of ancient Athens. Wandering past Roman amphitheatres, Byzantine chapels, and neoclassical mansions is like strolling through a cross-section of the city’s long history.
